I really enjoyed it. Her writing was beautiful and skilled, i never would’ve thought this was her debut novel. I felt like it was mainly world building and not much actual plot happened. i loved the magic system! I kind of struggled to understand Elspeth sometimes. I would definitely consider it YA.

Amanda and I are arguing over this book. Anyways. Review: a girl too quickly falls for someone she swears she shouldn’t and stereotypes the book into every trope available, but with the setting of a really cool and NEW magic system that is imaginative and fun.

Super slow, the slow burn romance was lackluster. I kept reading hoping that there would be some big twist but was left disappointed. I won’t be continuing with this series
