I went in cautiously since the last one (a Cocky Hero Club one) irritated me to no end.
And I had some issues with a few things like the characters were texting already but then later he sends her his number so they can text? Did I miss something?
And where did these 16-17 year old's get the money they had to do these things. And let their teenage daughter spend the night out of town overnight? Someone had cool parents because that was not my reality!
I did enjoy it enough after that (though I raced thru the heartbreak since I do not like to hurt inside for the characters) and the story was terrific.
What I realized is that we fall in love with this teenage boy and then he turns into a man of our dreams-but this is all written by a mid- age (I think she is white) woman! Weird. It works though :)

Clutch Player is filled with all the warm fuzzies!!
This is a second chance love story about a wonderful, understanding baseball player and a beautiful mother who puts her children first and hopes for a second chance love. This entire romance I was filled with good feelings and couldn't stop smiling, even when I was blubbering at the end. Nikki Ash never disappoints in writing a wonderful second chance love story.
Harper and Landon date in high school, but when Landon gets drafted by the MLB right out of school, their time gets cut short. Trying to keep a long distance relationship up is difficult and time eventually passes.
It appears fate steps in when a blind date sets them up and they are able to reconnect, but Harper feels her baggage is huge as an ex-wife with two children, but Landon refuses to be pushed away. This is their second chance and he wants Harper, baggage and all.
Clutch Player references characters in British Bedmate by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward, but you don't have to have read it to enjoy this story. This is a complete standalone.

אז אני אגיד שבאופן כללי זה ספר מאוד חמוד וקליל על זוג עם מערכת יחסים בריא ואני ממש בעד זה. אך כן היו כמה דברים שלא ממש התחברתי לספר הזה כשחשבתי שמגיע לו לפחות ארבע כוכבים. וזה כמובן הסצנות מין תראו אין לי בעיה שיהיה סמאט בספר הזה אבל לא ציפיתי שזה יהיה קצת מוגזם? פשוט היו כמה קטעים שהייתי כזה ״אממ שניכם צריכים להירגע״

This Cocky Hero is one for the record books and not just because he's a several time MVP and World Series winner. Landon is everything you want in a first love and everything you need in a forever!
I am smiling while fanning myself. His hotness is all him! Landon's compassion, his love, and his personality are the swooniest part of him. Sure, he's hot...but the real Landon is smoking!
Anyone would be lucky to play ball with him!

Nikki does it AGAIN!
Do you believe in fate? If you are Landon and Harper you just have to. Life doesn’t always go as planned, but sometimes it goes even better.
Nikki does a great job with sharing a story of two kids reuniting as adults and it was a great read. I loved how she brought some characters from British Bedmate back, it was fun to read about Simon taking Landon to Yoga!
This was just great! I can’t wait to read more Nikki Ash books!

Landon and Harper has a teenage love that should have lasted a life time. But when he gets drafted to play baseball and leaves her behind their shot at happiness crumbles. One night will change Harper's course and her life will never be the same. Flash forward 12 years and you find Harper a divorced single mother of two and Landon a retired baseball great. Can one blind date put the couple back together again? Or will it only prove that their love was never supposed to last? There is nothing better than romance and baseball and it is even made better with the second chance at happiness thrown in. With beautifully written characters and a heartwarming storyline this was a great addition to the Cocky Hero Club series.

I am a new reader to Nikki Ash and oh my goodness I am now going to read everything I can get my hands on. Clutch Player is superb, magical, heartfelt, and emotional with a wonderful ending that will leave you smiling. I am not going to give away more of the story line than you get in the synopsis but in this book you are gifted with Landon and Harper’s full, beautiful first love story as well as their second chance romance and both are so unforgettable and moving. Everything occurs so organically from beginning to end. There are no false notes. The characters are all wonderful. (Except the ones that are meant to be horrible. And those ones do their jobs really well.) You will absolutely fall in love with this book and these characters. Highly, highly recommended.
