Very clearly written for a younger audience, but that's on me. Nonetheless, a cute storyline that also tackles ideas of sexism, racism and feminism. Never fully got a grasp on what Len was like; sometimes bashful, sometimes super confident, sometimes shy. Quiet, but also goofy? Maybe that's just realistic though. I guess people don't always act the same. Eliza was a bit self-righteous, but as I also am that myself, I did connect with her a bit.

This book has so much feminism in it! I was pretty impressed. It was definitely a young adult book however. A little more nuace could've improved it but honestly I really liked it and I liked reading it and I just liked it.

Nothing much to write home about for this one. It's a nice read if you need to take a little breather from heavier books. I like how it was able to overlap how the younger generation now wants to tackles important issues like racism and gender equality (putting the idea of being politically correct under a microscope as well) but brings it a setting of a traditional Asian household that the main character has. And the fact that it's less of a confrontation and becomes a dialogue of sorts is great to see.
I really wish that they could have pushed it a bit further since I feel like a lot of it cuts off just as the conversation gets going though.

I was pleasantly surprised by Not Here To Be Liked, I went into it thinking it would be just another cute contemporary and yeah it was a cute contemporary but it was so much more than that. It had feminist themes, a rather shocking surprise in the final act of the book, amazing friendships that weren't perfect(we love flaws) and it was such a nice easy read that sparked some thoughts.
Writing wise I liked it, I'm definitely interested in reading more. It was smooth and there wasn't a lot of bumps and where there were bumps they weren't that noticeable(I read a not finalized copy so these might be fixed).
One of the things that stood out to me the most was how the characters developed over the course of the book, and how we got to see them change the more we knew about them.
Not Here To Be Liked had a lot of things I love in a book, I'm just gonna list some for you:
-Diverse cast of characters
-Feminist Themes
-A Cute romance that progresses in a great pace though the book
-Female friendships
-It's quick and easy to read.
I would 100% recommend this book to a lot of people.
