it’s an interesting book, and I’m glad I read it.
I think there are some iffy parts about it, especially about feminism. I still feel like there were notions pushed in the book that are just really not feminism that weren’t ever really addressed as being wrong (for example, Eliza being judged by everyone, including herself and best friend, for liking Len is just ridiculous).
I also don’t know if I particularly like Eliza either. I think she developed a little bit throughout the book, but I still felt like she needed more character development.
I also wanted more with Len. the parts I got I liked, but I feel like I don’t know him that well. also, he made mistakes that had really bad consequences, but I feel like the amount of hate and judgement he got was a bit much at times.
I liked the romance between Eliza and Len, but I feel like maybe because some things weren’t resolved, it doesn’t really feel like there was any real closure to their story. I was left wishing it felt more complete.

A good take on whether there is good or bad feminism.
My take on feminism while reading the book.
Feminism is not hating men or hating yourself for liking men-related things. Feminism is not being totally independent of men.
Feminism is a process we want to share with men to make them understand that we, women, matter. That we have our hopes and dreams for ourselves. Feminism is making men realise that we have our own minds and that we are not below them, but we’re on the same ground with them on equal footing. Feminism is a situation where women could live without men, and yet need him at the same time, but not all the time. Men can also live without women, but not all the time as well, even though they hate to admit it. Needing each other and at the same time, having a sense of individuality—a basic fact of feminism.
Again, hating men is not feminism. It is just plain hating. Be careful of equivocating hate with feminism. That is never the point of it.
Story-wise, although I did not really form a personal connection with the characters, it has taught me a thing or two about feminism.

Trying to misinterpret feminism to suit the character? Insufferable.

meh.
either the author doesn’t understand feminism very well, or her characters are written to have a poor understanding of it.
what i mean is : is the misrepresentation of feminism intentional, as a trait of the characters, or is it just the author’s own misunderstanding?
it’s hard to tell.
either way, the book presents a very flawed idea of what feminism is.
clearly, hooking up with a guy doesn’t make you less of a feminist…
as for the romance, there’s zero chemistry between the main characters.
i couldn’t personally connect with them or care about what happened to them.
the one thing i did appreciate though was that Eliza and Len have lives outside of their romantic storyline which is rare in books like this.
