Need a fantastic heroine? Need a world where magic is gritty? Need some small blue men in kilts that scream "Crivens!" and lots of other things?

You've got it. Don't delay. Start the Tiffany Aching series today.

Ack! Went back to glance over my reflections on the books I had read by Sir Terry, and saw that this must have been far enough before my Goodreads days that it never made it onto my list. Which just won't do, because it's possibly my favorite book by one of my favorite authors. It was the first book I read by Terry Pratchett, and I was swept immediately into the world of Tiffany Aching and her grandmother and the hilarious and irreverent Nac Mac Feegle, a.k.a. the Wee Free Men. But it's time for a re-read anyway... more thoughts in the not-too-distant future when it's fresh in my mind.
