Incredible conclusion. So powerful. If you like thinking, and feeling things then you should read it.

Really great ending and the ramping up to it. Rarely do I feel so content with an ending - this just felt right

This one was a little bit disappointing. It works as the ending of a good trilogy, but I found myself not enjoying reading this as much as the others. I loved the last two pages with my whole heart, and I think it made the whole book worth it.
In general, I felt like I did not connect with the characters this time. I liked Hoa only when he interacted with Essun. It was the only relationship I was seriously invested in. Everyone else just kind of... existed in the background. I get the idea of Nassun's character, but in the end, I felt that her arc was rushed. The writing is still beautiful, and so engaging. I adore the worldbuilding, the different lore and backstory of the world and its cultures. Overall, not a bad book, just disappointing.

All in all, an excellent conclusion of a series. The writing was really top notch which is expected for a series wherein each book won a Hugo Award each year it was published. Definitely interested in reading more of Jemisin's works.
