Found a review of this in my journal from 2002. I wrote, "I finished Happy Endings. I could, quite easily, call it my new favorite book. She (being Mel, the main character) seems to feel a lot like me. Her innermost thoughts and feelings remind me of mine." Sounds like a 5-star review from my 13-year-old self!
