I need me a tree of a man like Jack. Ali Hazelwood knows how to write men who are obsessed with their women and I will be gobbling up her books til I die.

This, somehow, manages to be gut wrenching, heartwarming, funny, and way too smart for my pea-sized brain, all at the same time.
Absolutely my favourite Hazelwood-book so far!!!

My least favorite of Hazelwood's books so far, but still a cute story. I wish there had been more plot given to Laurendeau's role as the secret villain, and I wish that there had been some acknowledgement of Jack's possessive behavior as either joking or hyperbole because otherwise he has some red flags. The main character having a disability and struggling in the world of poorly paid academia was probably the most thought provoking part of the story, and has someone with health conditions who is also debating going into academia it made me worried but also gave me hope. Hopefully by the time I'm 26 and if I'm in academia they'll have a more humane support system, pay scale, and benefits.
