I read Jesus Is____: in short spurts over the course of several weeks, pausing every couple of chapters to ponder the sheer wisdom that just touched my eyes.

Judah Smith uses a lovely mix of biblical and personal anecdotes to illustrate his points, which by the way, are many--I suggest vigorously annotating (my copy is littered with "facts!" and "yeeesss!" and "come on, dílo otra vez!"). I feel so encouraged by this book. As a Christian, it gave me a new perspective on grace--a concept that is difficult to grasp and (unfortunately) easily misconstrued--all while being helpful, über funny, and easy to read.

"God sees character flaws in me that I don't even see, and he is not stressed about it."

And I appreciate that Smith tastefully addresses a lot of the questions Christians grapple with, and even admits when he does not know how to answer them.

Ultimately, this book was a reminder to reflect on who Jesus is when we feel like we've lost sight of who He is and who we are. And remember--

It goes without saying that this book was fantastic. I listen to Judah's sermon podcasts and discovered that he had a few books. I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Not only did this book completely shake the ground work of my worldview but it took be back to the "basics". If you're a person who prefers well researched, deep, theological accounts of biblical concepts, then this is probably not one you'd add to your TBR list. But if you're looking for something to re-ignite you fire, re-calibrate your spiritual perspective, or even if you're a new Christian, then this one is definitely for you.
I loved it. I laughed, I learned and I grew. I plan to read this one once a year, just as a reminder. Because, who doesn't need to be reminded of what Jesus Is.
