ehh

So the “lingo” in this book really got to me.. As soon as I read that she was gonna find a job that “slaps” I was like there is no way I can take this seriously. And that was in the first couple of chapters. I only finished this book to count towards my reading goal and the storyline had some potential so I wanted to see how it played out. The banter was absolutely childish between both of them and the fact that she calls him “dude” and “man” is a huge turn off for me. I skimmed so much in this book and had a hard time maintaining interest but somehow I saw it through to the end. Not her best work by far.

DNF at 80%. Good but slow toward end and third act breakup

One Bossy Proposal is a book told from dual points of view by Lincoln and Dakota. This book starts off with a battle over a cinnamon roll.

From there Dakota shows up at Lincoln's business for a job interview and she will prove to him that she can work for him based on their last encounter.

As the book goes on they have a fake relationship, but we all know fake turns into more. What happens when feelings start to develop? Will their fake relationship turn into a real relationship? Both characters have been burned in the past, and when one of the pasts shows back up what happens? What happens when Dakota is a secret spy and follows Lincoln around and finds out one of his secrets?

I absolutely loved Lincoln and Dakota. Their banter from the very beginning was hilarious and made me fall in love with the characters even more. I loved getting to know what happened to them in the past to make them who they are today and seeing them go through their struggles.

I did NOT finish this book. I stopped reading it at 32% complete. The characters just didn't develop enough for me. It felt like the same thing on repeat and the conflict wasn't that deep. The dialogue between the 2 characters got on my nerves.

It's incredibly rare for me to give up on a book. In all of my reading years, I have done so less than a handful of times.

Maybe you'll like it. I didn't.
