A little long but worth the read!
Great banter, sweet spice, dual POV, and I love all of the Edgar Allen Poe references.

My first book by this author and I really enjoyed it! Slow-burn, enemies to lovers and office romance. Great story with realistic characters.
This was spectacular! The banter was top notch. Loved every word.
The male lead is just terrible. Self-centered, b ut secretly doing everything for a disabled vet. The meet-cute is awful. So many heteronormative tropes.
Graphic: Mental illness
Moderate: Bullying
Minor: Misogyny
Witty banter!! I loveddddd the witty banter.
After the middle, it was a little fast paced for me after H punched out h's ex... we didn't get to go too deep into the angst, which left me feeling disconnected.
But I did like the little tie ends for some of the secondary characters.
It was a fun, easy read

Well it’s good but it’s not what I normally read so I think i like it
OMG I absolutely love this author. This was my first and now, I’m going to have to read at least one book a month by Nicole. The story had it all from work place romance to slow burn with spice. Grumpy/Sunshine. Fake Dating with all the dirty talk. Just grab it today and you won't be disappointed.
Here are a few of my favorite quotes
Strange men do funny thing when you score the last cinnamon roll.
Sometimes he rages about the high crime of jacking his precious pastry.
Sometimes he offers you ludicrous bribes to buy it back.
And sometimes - after shattering your faith in humanity - you find out he’s your new boss.

Meh. I liked the story, and side story between the two Marines. I was more curious about their time together.
I didn't like the FMC's voice. The way she talked.... so many eye rolls.
The 'calling out my own tropes' trope made it cheesy.
The banter was repetitive and got old fast.
Meh. I finished, didn't hate it.

Absolutely loved these two! One of the longest slow burns but worth the wait. Their banter was so good.

This was just okay for me. At least 20% of it could have been edited out. It dragged a bit until about 60%. I really liked how the story was progressing and what conversations they were having between 60 and 73%. Then we had the inevitable 3rd act breakup. The ending was okay, a nice HEA, but for me something was missing.
