I have enjoyed other works by Allison Temple, but this did not work for me.

Maybe it was the very quick time line, the whole story is only a handful of meetings but I did not sense an emotional connection or relationship development.

"He laughs again, and Jesus, he's sweet. I seriously could eat him up in one bite."

I was nervous going into this becuase I was so disappointed in the first book of this series but oh my gosh I really enjoyed this one. It was light kink, toy play, full of consent, and sweet pups .

This one was decently okay. I'm always here for books with dogs in them and love the dog trainer angle. Maybe I'm just too asexual for these thinqs, but in what world do people just make out after barely knowing each other?? Is that really a thing? Anyway, I needed them to talk their shit out before they jumped into bed. It seemed almost irresponsible, especially because of the kink aspects and the awful previous relationship of on of the MCs.

What I liked the most about this one was the puppy and the anxiety rep. But other than that it was fine. There were things that seemed just thrown in there.

I did infact enjoy this book! But I would say the writing and pacing are not as good as the first one.

Book 2 in the 10 part book series “Bold Brew”, in which ten authors each contribute a book with the base of a coffee shop as the center of each story. I absolutely adore this concept, and the fact that so many great writers get to lend their voices to this fun idea. In “Puppuchino” (an absolutely HORRENDOUS book title. I almost didn’t read this because of title) we have Charlie. Recently single dog dad whose in over his head. He reaches out to a dog trainer to help tame the husky that he bought in an attempt to fix his broken relationship, but fought for in the breakup. When Mason accepts the offer to help train Charlie’s dog Athena, he doesn’t expect to feel the instant attraction to Charlie. You can see where this is headed, it’s not hard. What I liked about this is the subplot of what can happen to a persons psyche when things in a relationship begin to cross a line. In Charlie’s previous relationship, the power struggle was something he enjoyed when in the sheets, unfortunately the ex couldn’t end it there. Nor could he listen to Charlie’s boundaries. As a result, Charlie became afraid. Mason spends a good portion of this book working that fear out of Charlie. Basically, he has to train Athena, while also untraining Charlie. A cute read, a great addition to this set of books, and helped me find a new author I’ll be reading more of in the future.
