I purchased the e-book a long time ago and lowkey forgot that I did until I went through my e-books late this summer šŸ«£šŸ¤šŸ«¢ Whoops lol. So despite this being the sixth book in the Cali series, this stands on its own just fine. Minor cameos from three characters from previous books but you donā€™t need to read the others to know their roles / backgrounds. This one felt a lot more spicer than Jasmineā€™s other books in the series which was a little šŸ˜Æ for me but not in a bad way. I do wish we got more from Ben as far as his job and purpose. I feel like Anna became the centerfold and Ben got lost in the shuffle. There were a little too many tropes put in here and I think if the focus was only on one maybe two, this would have been a stronger romance (not a huge fan of fake dating but thatā€™s a me problem)

In my opinion, this is the best book in her series thus far. I cruised through this.

Jasmine Guillory has become an auto read and buy author for me. I love that I can see myself represented in all her characters (regardless of race). This book was truly special because it emphasized body positivity and mental health awareness. If youā€™re hesitant to read this book, read it! The angst, banter, and tough conversations were perfect and the book read like a good show and movie.

Jasmine Guillory books are the ultimate comfort read. Her characters always fly off the page and have great chemistry and wonderful banter. I loved Nik and Carlosā€™ cameo (glad to see theyā€™re finally engaged lol)! Anna and Ben were adorable together and I enjoyed how they talked openly about things like anxiety, therapy, trauma, etc. 4.5 stars!
