"What I want is here. And somewhere out in the dark, I can feel it calling to me."

Aurora Rising is the first book in The Aurora Cycle series, and I loved it! The setup of this book reminds me of Guardians of the Galaxy a little bit - it's about a ragtag group of people who were kind of unwanted by everyone else, and they end up working well together.

It was really easy to get invested in this story and the characters. Sometimes the nicknames and species were a little hard to keep track of, but I got it sorted out eventually. This book got me through a difficult time, and it will always have a special place in my heart because of that. I know that's cheesy, but this book was something I could get lost in when I needed it. I can't wait for book 2!

Loved this! Hard to put it down. It is just so great to have well written characters that develop, as do their relationships with each other. And then add in space, romance, fighting, friendship, and general badassery and you have this book.

Oh shettt. I truly didnt expect to like this book as much as I do.

The beginning was confusing especially for someone who likes to skim over paragraphs that are big and chunky (and a lot of paragraphs were indeed big and chunky).

The jumping povs got me confused at first but over time I got over that barrier and grew to love this book.  Its a nice change of pace from the books I usually read and im looking forward to the next few books.

Pretty interesting, the Mass Effect-vibes from couple of scenes were cool, but sadly I felt this was kinda dragging at times, and the dialogue was very juvenile at times. The problem with changing POVs and having many main characters is that there are always a couple you don't care about...
