Didn’t like the writing style and needed more details to the various characters that were introduced as it felt very rushed; like this a spin off series.

Penny Carlton and FBI special agent Holten Satterfield have been on a few dates, but have secrets they don’t want to share. She is the daughter of a famous actress and served time in a juvenile detention center. Holt’s sister is in prison for murdering her husband. If their relationship is to move to the next level, they’ll need to be honest.
As an EMS helicopter pilot, Penny is used to high-stress situations, but being forced to land on a mountain in a raging storm with a critical patient tests her skills and nerve to the limit. In the ensuing days, Penny finds herself under attack by an escaped serial killer. When news reaches Holt, he comes to her rescue. It will take all he and Penny have to catch a killer—before he catches one of them.
Not corny like a lot of Christian fiction; it’s just fiction without all the sex and swearing. Life Flight was a high-octane suspense page turner loaded with close calls and a sweet romance. Some of the writing was contrived, however, and the word choices were sometimes inappropriate. For example, Penny kept using “hurl,” an odd choice for her character. I supplemented the book with audio, which I thought was robotically narrated. The male voices were terrible. This was my first book by Lynette Eason… I’ll check out the next book in the series. 4 stars.

Lynette Eason delivers a heart-pounding, adrenaline-fueled thriller with Life Flight, the first book in her Extreme Measures series. From the opening scene, EMS helicopter pilot Penny Carlton is thrown into an intense survival situation—forced to land on a storm-ravaged mountain with a critical patient while a ruthless serial killer prowls nearby. The tension doesn’t let up, as FBI Special Agent Holt Satterfield steps in to assist Penny, only to realize the nightmare is far from over.
Eason masterfully blends action, suspense, and romance, keeping readers on edge with near-constant danger and unexpected twists. Penny is a strong, capable heroine who faces adversity head-on, and Holt is a determined and honorable protector. Their chemistry is well-developed, adding an emotional layer to the relentless suspense.
What makes Life Flight truly shine is its breakneck pace, immersive writing, and well-crafted villain—one who proves far more elusive than initially believed. Eason keeps the stakes high, and just when you think the danger has passed, she throws another curveball that leaves you breathless.
Fans of romantic suspense, particularly those who enjoy authors like Terri Blackstock and Irene Hannon, will devour this book. If you’re looking for a fast-paced, faith-infused thriller with high stakes and strong characters, Life Flight is a must-read.
Amazing! I loved the fast pace. There was always something happening.
The characters felt like real people and their dialogue was unique and realistic.
I liked the romance in the book as well. This book was so exciting and I couldn't put it down. Took only 2 days to read.
I definitely want to read more books by this author!
I found this book when I was searching for novels about female police officers and for some reason this book came up in my library's list. The main character isn't a police officer but she's a medical helicopter pilot, so that was pretty cool!

This was horrible. I would have DNF'd it but I picked as a bingo square book for a genre that I'm not familiar with. The characters all make incredibly stupid decisions, even the supposedly smart criminal.
Then add in the fact that this is a "Christian" publisher, so while the characters should be thinking what would be the best thing to do in a deadly situation instead they take time to say a prayer, not just the main character but every one of the characters except of course for the villain.
If you need a bingo square save yourself and pick some other book ;)

This is the first book by Lynette Eason that I have read. I’ve owned her books for a few years, and I am so glad I finally read them. Eason is a very talented author. This book has just the right amount of suspense, mystery, and romance. The serial killer aspect gave me Bones vibes. This book has strong Christian themes. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
