Book thirty-five in my Agatha Christie read through in (American) publication order.

I must have read this one in my teens as well, as a couple of points in the story really stood out to me as important clues, beyond what I would have actually deduced from scratch.

The mystery is very solid, and worth reading once. The human elements are especially messy in this one, which interfered with my enjoyment a bit. I probably would have still considered this worth a re-read in the future, except that the messiness was paired with repeated approval of 'mercy' killings and some other sneaky bad worldview, and I don't think I would enjoy having to wade through all that again.

mysterious medium-paced

I have read this book at least one time before, decades ago, but I did not consciously remember any of it. I was able, on this reading, however, to figure out the puzzle, which may mean that clues were lodged somewhere in my unconscious memory. It did seem to me, however, upon this reading, that there were several clues which were fairly obviously pointed, so if you're looking for an Agatha Christie you can solve, this one is a good candidate.
