Such a whirlwind! Wow! This was so unexpected! I loved finally getting more call-backs for the first Mistborn trilogy! It’s going to be interesting to see how all this plays out!

Well, this is better than the first book, and that's only because the misogynistic elements are toned down. They're still there, mind you, but there are fewer lingering descriptions of Merisi's curves.
The plot and characters for this were tropey. A lot of predictable twists at the end. Th main characters are all still rather typical archetypes. But it's a fun read. My real issue is that I'm just unsure what Sanderson might have meant as a theme in this book. I think he was trying for nuance, but instead he sends mixed messages.

This was much better than Alloy of Law especially as we get to see more references and connections with the previous Era. For the most part, I cared more about those than the action scenes which I still loved. I grew to love our 3 main characters more: Wax, Wayne, and Marasi! The ending had me screaming because of how many questions it raises. Excited for Bands of Mourning!
