It was not for me, and I didn’t enjoy it, maybe it would be better for someone younger, that can relate more to the main character.

This book was not as I had anticipated, it was way too middle grade for me. Which makes sense because it is a middle grade book, but most of the time I don’t mind reading a middle grade book, but this was different.
I didn’t enjoy the world in general, it wasn’t magical which I had thought it would be when it’s about being a witch and magic. and the way the mother and the main character was so casual about just finding out there was magic and witches, which for me seems very rushed and not very likely.
I didn’t like how much girl drama there was, the whole mean girl thing wasn’t for me, it was too much and stole a bit of the plot.
I didn’t like the main character either, and the adults were pretty mean actually.

Such a fun and cute book about a preteen witch learning about who she is. Definitely looking forward to reading book #2.

I liked the idea, but the bullying was way too much for me after experiencing very similar things. Finished, but it was a struggle. If the bullying was not such a big part of the book I would have rated it much higher.

Cute aesthetic, absolutely love the representation. Just kind of an overdone plot. Won't rate because I didn't finish and am not an own-voices reviewer. Would have loved this as a teen though!
