I'm afraid I'm just not the audience for this book. It was a little too much like going to work. She's a fun writer though.

As a book club pick, this was interesting enough but I wouldn't have chosen to read it on my own (which is the point of book club). The characters aren't particularly interesting, despite Joyce's efforts to make them quirky, and the storyline never quite gels.

"Musik kommt aus der Stille und kehrt am Ende in die Stille zurück. Es ist eine Reise. Und natürlich ist die Stille am Anfang eines Musikstücks immer anders als die Stille am Ende."

Ein schönes, leichtes Buch. Voller Liebe und Zusammenhalt. Und einem Ende das zeigt, dass die Welt eine gute ist.

Just the book you want when you are in the mood to lose yourself into fiction.
The characters and music stories blend seamlessly.
I discovered the playlists available after I finished the book, so I went back and started all over again.
Truly a book I won’t forget.

This was such a lovely and charming novel.

A solid 4.5, but worth rounding up. The descriptions of the music gives the reader beautiful visualizations. It would be wonderful to have the music played as you are reading.

I quite liked this one. I’m used to having my phone with me when I read so I can look up new words but this book had me googling songs instead! I loved listening to the songs while reading Frank’s description of them.

Charming.

It was okay. It took longer than usual to read because it was hard to get into it despite the characters being interesting.
