This was written beautifully but it was so awfully boring and went on forever and then ended in a flash mob which is my least favorite thing.

Not bad at all. And it comes with a great soundtrack that you can open on Spotify .. so you can listen while you read

What was the last book you read that you could picture so clearly in your mind, it was as though you were directing a film version in your head?

Y’all I could SEE this book. This novel is a mood. If it was an indie film that debuted at Cannes, it would win the audience favorite award. Anybody remember the early 00s movie AMELIE? Reading this book felt like watching AMELIE, despite it having almost nothing in common with AMELIE. It is sweet and sweeping and quirky and melancholy and funny and romantic and triumphant.

Also, you know how Pixar’s RATATOUILLE did the seemingly impossible by visually representing what it’s like to taste something? This book does the same thing by putting into words an individual’s response to music.

Basically I loved it. Must-read for anyone who loves music, romance, and offbeat ensemble stories.

This is a sweet little book about an unlikely community coming together and forming some beautiful relationships, despite all the ways each character has been hurt in the past. I was fascinated by the unusual way Frank describes music, it is undoubtedly the best part. The characters are well developed and endearing, and there were even parts that made me laugh out loud too. Without revealing too much, I have to say that the three stars instead of four came about because there is just too much time that passes between the climax and the conclusion. I understand why because of the events that unfold, but I just felt like there was too much wasted life in that time. Anyway, if you want a light, funny, easy book that makes you think about love, music, and relationship, this is it.

This book just wasn’t resonating with me, not necessarily boring. Might come back to it in the future.

A quirky book for people who love music! Made me feel like I was on a trip to England. Can’t wait to listen to the Spotify Playlist! I want to work at The Music Shop!

Cute story about a man who r fused to sell anything other than vinyl records. He resisted the lure of CDs etc despite the fact that the street his ship was in was going downhill. He and others didn’t succumb to a property developer wanting to buy their properties. One day a young woman comes to the shop and he falls in love with her, but can’t tell her. Eventually his life falls apart and more than twenty years later the woman looks for him and finds him and they end up together, easy read
