This book was a whirlwind. In the second half of the book there were some many twists and turns I kept saying “oh my god” out loud. Remo and Serafina were made for each other. Loved this story sm

4.5/5

For someone so famous in the mafia romance genre, Cora Reilly's books have been a disappointment. This one is mediocre at best.

Why is this book so long? Neither the plot, nor the writing is any good. So much could've been cut out.

• We read so much of Adamo's coming of age story here. It is so obviously a setup for his own book that 10% of this book read like his own prologue.

• That Danilo and Sofia subplot was so uncomfortable it should never have been written down.

• I am usually a sucker for fluff and domisticity but even that part was so devoid of any tension that I wished those moments to be shorter.

Also, Serafina rescuing Remo was so unbelievable
challenging dark tense slow-paced

Honestly sooo much better than i expected. I thought remo would not have a single redeeming quality and thought he would be totally be cruel. But man it was so much deeper than that and i couldnt get enough. This book literally made me tear in some parts. Ugh so good!!!

"And in the end, Serafina was the one who owned me, black heart, condemned soul, scarred body.
Every fucking part of me was hers, and if she’d let me, I’d be hers till my last day."

This book was so addictive and so good I couldn't stop reading

THIS IS MY FAVORITE CAMORRA SERIES BOOK. Yes you have to really be into morally grey, if not black men to love Remo.

Remo kidnaps Serafina on her wedding day. She is the niece of the Outfit’s boss (a rival mafia family). Remo gives Serafina the choice he only gives to women and she surprises him by picking the one he least expected. That is when he recognizes something in her.

Remo is the cruelest man she’s ever met and she intends to play his game and bring him to his knees, at least that was the point before the lines got blurred.

REMO’s BOOK WILL LIVE IN MY HEAD RENT FREE. 5 STARS WILL NEVER BE ENOUGH.
Tropes:
- Mafia romance
- Age gap
- Forced proximity

I've read quite a few of Cora Reilly's books and this was the first that had me from start to finish. I haven't been this excited for a book release in what feels like forever. I actually had this marked down on my calendar. I had this preordered from Amazon and I literally sat on my computer waiting for it to be midnight so I could start reading this. Love Remo and Serafina. Highly recommend.
