DNF. So much potential! But it just fell flat for me.

The writing wasn’t great from the get go, but I was willing to give the book a try because I was intrigued. But as things got more and more ridiculous and strange, I just had to give up. Not for me.

Could really have used a Roza Vallo edit.

Kind of terrible. Every other two star review pretty well sums it up. Poor pacing, flat characters. Tries Gothic, ghosts, erotica, demon possession, kidnapping, murder, survivalist, and I swear I think it's trying to make a Deep Point about mentorship and the wiring process but trust me, I'm really reaching here. First 60% is so slow. And it didn't help build up tension or characters. It was just slow. Earned its second star by going off the rails in the last 25%.

This was such a fun, chaotic and unhinged thriller. I had so much fun reading it. This book follows a group of young female writers as they get invited to an exclusive writing retreat hosted by a famous, mysterious feminist author. Things start to go off the rails when one of them goes missing. This book was completely unhinged, I didn’t expect it to go where it went with the twist in the middle. As someone who is not that well versed in thrillers I was not expecting most of the twists and turns and was having fun enjoying the ride that was this book. The ending felt a little meh and I wanted it to leave it on a more chaotic place but overall I enjoyed it.

I was undecided whether to give 2 or 3 stars but I settled on 3. The 1 and 2 star reviews pretty much summed it all up for me (except the homophobic ones, of course)

An excellent debut novel! The plot is captivating, the characters are interesting and there are a lot of twists and turns. Can't wait for her next book!
