This wasn’t quite a 4-star, but a bit better than a 3-star, so I give it a 3.5.

I just found so much of this book not believable. You have amnesia, but instead of wanting to figure out who you are, you run away with a stranger? And then force yourself into people’s lives? I just felt embarrassed and uncomfortable for her.

I really loved all of the characters, except Clementine. She just annoyed me. But I loved Kieran. He’s got that mysterious-but-always-there-for-you vibe. I LOVED Siobhan. Such a rebel with always something to say. And Clive, the gay best friend! I want my own Clive! He’s just so perfect <3

Omg that ending! I did not expect that. And I really loved it. The whole book, I was set on giving it 3 stars, but then that ending made the book for me! So good!

To be quite honest, I wasn't expecting too much from this book when I first started it because I hadn't ever heard of it. I saw it on Netgalley when I was browsing and thought, why not? And I'm glad I did, because it exceeded my expectations and turned out to be a cute, full of twist and turns, right-kind-of-moment book.

Firstly, I barely ever read anything set in my home country so I'm happy that this was set in Ireland. The setting made it soooo relatable, especially the use of language and I even knew the tourist sites and Irish references that were knitted throughout.

The character of Clementine was an easy narrator to keep up with and she seemed like any normal teenager, so I think it was well written on Crane's behalf. There was a sense of realness to her even though she's a fictional character. As well as that, I was a big fan of the mystery sub-plot that followed Clementine throughout the story, and I loved the big revelations and plot twists towards the end. The book ended up coming full circle and clearly the plot was well thought-out.

My only problem with this book was that it was hard to get into first. It was a slow opening, even when a massive thing like a plane crash and Clementine waking up in an unrecognisable place without her memories happened. However, once the plot took off it really took off and it was hard to stop reading from there on in!

Listened as an audiobook! I really liked this sweet simple easy story of Clementine Haas, a girl who gets in a plane crash and has retrograde amnesia. Of course there is a love story, but nothing is as it appears. Really this story is about identity and who makes you You, are you defined by family, your friends, your internal self, your actions or is it really a combination of everything. I wanted to give it 5 stars but the little twist at he end just felt too contrived. A good book for a quick summer read but definitely will be one of those that you either really like or just go “ehhh”. 4 stars!

this book is beautifully written but the ending was rushed for me it ended so abruptly

(guess who's behind on the reviews they were supposed to write, yet again)

As it turns out, all one needs to do to get me interested in a book is mention Ireland somewhere in the summary.

Actual rating: 3.5
This is a solid book in my favorite genre, it's no surprise that I enjoyed it. It's well thought out and well executed. I liked the characters best of all, and the plot was very intriguing. The only thing that doesn't sit well with me is the ending, it felt rushed and it didn't seem believable.
