Will Emily Henry ever write a book that I do not love? So far that hasn't happened yet.
Our main character is the woman that, in romances, is usually the one who is dumped in favor of the small town girl who is nice and emotional, etc. She's seen as "the shark" that always has everything planned, even the people she is allowed to date.
I loved the whole bookish vibe of the story, loved the fact that we didn't have 'opposites attract' but instead two people falling in love that are very similar to each other.
I liked that we were in a small town and not everything is super charming but it's not bad either. There were so many good things here, such great sentences and moments.
5 stars! And if there's a new Emily Henry book out there, send it to me!

I had to change my rating of this book from a 4.5 stars to a 5 stars given how well it aged for me. For one, I just have to say that I feel Emily Henry is the absolute romantic comedy queen - she knows how to make you laugh and cry, has an intense adoration for the genre that you can feel through her novels, and is a queen of consent-based content. She also easily writes the best banter I've seen from romance authors.
Book Lover itself truly spoke to me - from Nora riding a Peloton, to her battle between her inner self and how others perceive her, to her growing romance with Charlie, I fell in love. This book was my first Emily Henry novel, and oddly enough, I had a slow start where it took me days to get through the first 50 pages. After those 50 pages, it felt as if a dam had been burst and I could not tear my eyes away from the novel. In my opinion, this is Henry's best work and it encapsulates all of the aforementioned reasons I love her writing. Her dialogue and characters in this novel are stellar, and the bookishness of her writing shines through. After thinking about this book for half a year, and being unable to get it out of my mind as one of my favorite romances of all time, there was no way I was leaving this as a 4.5 rating.
