I absolutely devoured this book and really enjoyed it. Typically, I’m not a huge contemporary romance, but I think this book might have sold me on the genre.

Emily Henry’s writing was easy to get into and kept me engaged the entire time. The pacing towards the end felt a little too fast, especially since we spent the majority of the book covering only a month. I understand why it was written that way, but I would have loved to stay in the world a little longer.

Our romantic leads, Nora and Charlie, have some great banter and chemistry. Nora felt more fleshed out as a person, but that makes sense given this is in her POV.

Would absolutely recommend…now off to read more EH books.

Reread in 2024. A wonderful book with all the wit and banter you can expect from an Emily Henry book!

Nora and Charlie were so great and I loved the bookish plot and small town setting. The excerpts of Frigid (the book within the book) were a nice touch and offered an interesting angle to Nora’s character growth.

I laughed out loud many times but especially at the prologue. It really nailed those big city/ small town romance books.

I also loved the family centeredness of the book (though I’ll admit Libby got on my nerves a bit, likely because we were seeing her only through Nora’s eyes, painting the picture of the quintessential little sister)

Book Lovers is in my top three Emily Henry books so far and I highly recommend it

I very much enjoyed this book. It pokes fun at all traditional contemporary romance novels, and I enjoyed that part thoroughly. By the author addressing the tropes and themes that are most seen in romance novels, it gives the reader permission to laugh at the ridiculousness that romance sometimes is.

There are some authors that know how to grab people and pull them into the book with all the "real life" and authentic emotions and conversations. Emily Henry is one of those authors. Similarly to Colleen Hoover and Ali Hazelwood.

This book was a wonderfully heartfelt read, which I mean with all my heart. It had small town charm, witty and clever dialogue, heart and such depth to the characters. What truly got me though as an older sister myself is how the author wrote the relationship between the two sisters. Reading that had me thinking dearly of my sister and the connection we have! Definitely worth its five stars!

okay i really liked nora and charlie like what they had had SO much potential but wtf … that was so boring… like. nothing. happened. like what did i read? i genuinely don’t understand. enemies to lovers? yet once again it’s just that they got off on the wrong foot… and then they’re just flirting for like 300 pages… they’re now in love even tho they “hated each other” two week ago… and then two months later he’s proposing??? no lmao. i’m sorry but like… i don’t care lmao this was so dumb also fuck libby for not telling her sister she was moving away when clearly her sister lover her more than life itself. no but fr why write a romance where they don’t even officially get together until the last 20 fucking pages that is so….. ugh. i wanted to love it bc everyone and their dog loves it but come on.. ik im being a hater and like it wasn’t a bad story but it was a bad romance story and like.. that’s what this was trying to be so yeah. i didn’t like it lmao
