I'm so mad at myself for putting this series off for so long, because I really loved this second book! The events of this book take place 5 years after The City of Brass, and I loved seeing the growth of the characters! They're all really starting to come into their own, especially Nahri and Ali, and Dara continues to frustrate me even though we see a lot more vulnerability in him. I'm very much enjoying the dynamics between the characters and learning the secrets of this world, and I'm excited to continue with The Empire of Gold, especially with the way that this book ended on a cliffhanger!
