so glad this made its point in what 60 pages instead of wastefully dragging the story. *coughs* Metamorphosis *coughs*
How Much Land Does a Man Need? is a pretty simple and timeless story about the human greed and hubris; almost like a tragic parable with lots of levity. A really fun read!
The other story packed in with this book; What Men Live By was a bit all over the place and honestly I don't totally get it but overall still had a message I could get behind. Just not as particularly gripping as the former short story; especially considering how simple it was and how kinda' convoluted this one is.

Dit is een verhalenbundel bestaande uit drie korte verhalen, het titelverhaal: ‘Heeft een mens veel land nodig?’, het tweede ‘Een graankorrel zo groot als een kippeëi’ en het derde ‘Kornej Vasiljev’.
Het laatste verhaal: ‘Kornej Vasiljev’ vond ik echt prachtig, een klassiek verhaal in de stijl van Tolstoj. De andere twee vielen me tegen. De verhalen lijken meer als een parabel, dan als een kort verhaal geschreven te zijn. De lijn of de conclusie van de eerste twee verhalen zijn al snel duidelijk en doordat er geen twisten in het plot zitten worden de verhalen een beetje mat.
