Under One Roof is a charming, quick read packed with Ali Hazelwood’s signature blend of smart banter and simmering tension. The forced proximity trope is done well, with sparks flying between the environmental engineer heroine and the grumpy lawyer she’s suddenly living with. Their chemistry builds slowly but satisfyingly. While it’s a novella and moves fast, it still manages to deliver emotional depth and laugh-out-loud moments. I just wish we had a bit more time for character and plot development.

This book is proof that if a ghost wants you to bang a guy, you do it.
Mara, aka Annie the emotional orphan, has an unhealthily dependent relationship with her mentor, who leaves her half a house when she dies (not sure of the legal viability of that but we roll). Unfortunately, her mentor left the other half of the house to her unbelievably sexy and successful nephew. She works as an environmental scientist and yes a corporate lawyer for big oil, but the Anthropocene will not get in the way of these two.
I get that it’s just to show their differences but I actually fully think it’s a dick move that Liam doesn’t recycle.

I really think Helena did that on purpose and matchmaked them because she knows both of them got no plans on involving themselves with the opposite gender.
I didn’t like this one or the second but I hate stopping mid-series so I will read the final one.

It was good until the last chapter. It gave me the ick. I thought he'd be more manly and assertive.
