challenging emotional informative inspiring sad fast-paced

Last of the Four novellas and I'm sad to see them go. I'd like to hear more about the story from his point of view because it is so different than Tris'. This one really was enjoyable because it let the reader in on facts that they didn't already know, and couldn't have known from anyone else. It also made all the pieces of Four fit a lot better.

After being okay with the other three novellas in the Four series, this one was kind of disappointing. For the most part, it was just a rehash of stuff we already seen in Divergent and literally added nothing besides a splinter to what we saw there. It wasn't about discovering the new information, or anything; that part was fine. It was the fact there was so much space was wasted on repeating specific scenes from Divergent without really adding anything to them.

The rest was fine; I just wasn't done with the repetition. Maybe I need Four to go back to being secondary. I don't know. I'm glad there's only four of them. If there was more, that would probably be ironic in a way or something.

In that moment I'm able to accept the inevitability of how I feel, though not with joy. I need to talk to someone. I need to trust someone. And for whatever reason, I know, I know it's her.
I'll have to start by telling her my name.”

June 2025 Review
Amazing Read

This was an incredible read. This is the fourth and final short story in the Four: A Divergent Collection and a novella that is part of the Divergent trilogy. I loved Four’s short stories. In this one, we are in Welcoming Ceremony, where Four meets Tris’s mom, Natalie, and we see him do a prank on Peter with Shauna and Zeke. It was really funny. I thought that this story was a fantastic edition because Four is willing to do whatever he can to protect those he loves and will fight against whatever is going on within Dauntless walls. Also, I am fascinated to learn that before Tris was created, the story of Divergent was supposed to be told in his POV. I think a book from his POV of the events in Divergent trilogy will be nice. In this short story, we get a glimpse of what it would be like to read the book in his POV.

August 2014 Review

I really enjoyed this one as well. The Traitor is pretty much Divergent from Four's POV with some extra scenes added in that we didn't know about. I want more Four!! I find it awesome how we get to see through Four's eyes which is more liberating! I LOVE FOUR EVEN MORE NOW!!!
