this really felt like a whole lot of kind of unlikable nothing i’m sorry. just so so many weird lists and lots of her sounding like a real dick (does she like her wife at all?? and poor step kids, that whole thing was mean). there were like 3 essays (can we really call them that) i vaguely enjoyed, because they were actually about something instead of just boring nonsense. also i feel like i had to read another of her books first to understand a lot of this, because there was a LOT of personal context not really ever explained that felt pretty important! anyways, i’m glad it’s over.

I loved this! I listened to this (read by Irby) and re-listened to “Late-1900s Time Capsule” twice. So funny!

I couldn’t get through Irby complaining at great lengths about her work from home schedule 🫠 maybe when I’m less burned out and pissy I’ll come back to this book lol

A thoroughly entertaining and real read from Samantha Irby in this book of essays about her life. As an aspiring writer, I have to admit I especially enjoyed her essay on getting published, but all of these were funny and genuine and just a solid read all-around.

I skipped several sections already and wanted to keep skipping more so it’s probably not for me

I enjoy interviews with the author but on the page the body humour was not for me!
