Agatha finally gets her Man
Review of the Blackstone Audio Inc. audiobook edition (January 2013) of the original St. Martin's Press Minotaur hardcover (December 2001)
The Love from Hell finds Agatha Raisin finally married to her village crush James Lacey but they soon begin to annoy each other and James takes up with an incomer named Melissa. Melissa is found murdered and James disappears. Agatha and her regular allies esp. Sir Charles Fraith, have to solve the crime and find out where James has gone.
I'm continuing to enjoy the fun of this cozy series which is somewhat different from the TV-series which I saw first. Sir Charles is much more of a recurring character and occasional love interest than he is in the screen adaptation and his cheap and chintzy manners are played up quite a bit. The narration by regular reader Penelope Keith is always excellent in all voices.
Most (28 of 32) of the Agatha Raisin audiobooks are free on Audible Plus. A posthumous Book 32 [b:Down the Hatch|56268978|Down the Hatch (Agatha Raisin #32)|M.C. Beaton|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1627893353l/56268978._SY75_.jpg|87659550] is yet to be released, and is expected to be published in October 2021.

The Love from Hell was adapted as Episodes 5 & 6 of Series 3 for the currently ongoing Agatha Raisin TV series (2016-). A trailer can be seen on Vimeo here.

No spoilers, but....
Another breath of fresh air because of minimal involvement with the disagreeable James Lacey. Except where he is very much involved.
This was another enjoyable read, and I am quite impressed that Ms. Beaton manages to come up with imaginative plot twists and turns that make it loads of fun. On to the next one.. after a couple of other books in the TBR pile.

Very enjoyable read. However, the way Agatha discovered the murderer was too farfetched and totally unconvincing.

I love Agatha Raisin! She's a mid-life woman who always ends up in the middle of murder investigations. Agatha has finally married James, who I think is a jerk, but things aren't as happy as she thought they would be married. When James ends up missing and a woman acquitance is murdered, Agatha gets involved to clear James' name. Will Agatha, with the help of Charles, figure out what's really happened.
😊Happy Reading😊

Agatha finally got what she wanted: she's Mrs. James Lacey. But the honeymoon's over now, and the not-so-happy couple is still living in separate cottages and constantly bickering. When James suddenly disappears after a nasty public fight—and his former girlfriend is found murdered—Agatha becomes a person of interest. Can she find her husband, find the real killer, and clear her name in the process? And what is the terrible secret James has been hiding from her? It's up to Agatha and her occasional friend with benefits Sir Charles Fraith to find out.

Agatha Raisin and the Love from Hell by M.C. Beaton
I love the Agatha Raisin series and this one is no exception. They're great easy reads with brilliant characters, especially the titular Agatha Raisin. The plots are excellent and I never normally work out who the culprit is.
