I was always going to be excited about a Dreamer story, and the exploration of queer culture is a great addition. The origin story doesn't match up with the Supergirl show, which is to be expected for comics but may be unusual for those new to the genre.

Nia’s  lovable innocence makes the reader want to protect and defend her from the big bad world. Nia lives in a town that’s very isolated. There are humans and aliens living side by side. Nia and her sister, Maeve are half human and half alien, but because Nia is trans she’s made to feel, by the townspeople and Maeve like an outsider. Also their alien mother has the power to see the future in dreams. Her powers will be passed to her daughter, but Nia’s the one to get the power she fears what Maeve’s reaction will be, since EVERYONE assumed she would be the ONE. Nia runs away, frightened of her powers, her sister’s reaction and feeling truly dejected. When Nia leaves home to find herself, what she finds is family.

I loved everything about this. The art is breathtaking, and Nia’s story is incredibly compelling. And to top it all off, we get the girls from Galaxy the Prettiest Star!!!! Dc is 2 for 2 with their trans alien OGNs and I am loving it!!!
