The pacing was a bit strange, the third book span over a week yet this span over 6 months.
The character development was much better in this book. Tory was much more likeable, as well as all the heirs.
There are a lot of moments where I’m thinking “surely doing this would be much easier than the plan the characters are going ahead with?”
An unexpected highlight for me was Darcy and Darius’ friendship blossoming over their shared love and fear for Tory and Orion, which I hope will continue into the next books.
I love Darius’ love for Tory, even though she pisses me off immensely.
What I don’t understand is how easily daddy Acrux beat four heirs and two princesses, all of which are much more powerful once their powers combine and assist one another against one dragon and one shadow princess. It kind of felt like an unlikely move to make just to cause more shit to happen.
Also, I was wrong in betting Diego was a villain, but I KNEW he was a nymph from the very first book!! Called it!!
It’s getting to the point that I’m losing love for the main characters if there’s nothing to root for and no point doing so?

thoughts i had while reading:
- Tory had to say no because Darius truly didn’t understand what was at stake, who he was gaining. Now is their chance to really pass the TRUE test to their pairing and build a relationship built on more than hate and sex.
- This book is so fucking good
- Tory and Darius literally have me screaming
- The bday party scene AHHH
- Yes I wish there was more pitball now I understand the game better. honestly better than quidditch.
- FUCK KYLIE FUCK THAT BITCH FUCKKKKK
- Why are these authors destroying me WHY R U DOING THIS TO ME
- I am team Mission: Defy the Stars
- I want Seth with his new love interest so badly it’s not even funny
- (Insert clip of Leo screaming “I defy you, stars!”)
- I need a Gabriel spice scene in this series at some point dear god
- AKDKANDKAFKNFKFEKLEK CLIFFHANGER TWIST WHY WHY WHYYYYYYYYYYY
anyways, can you tell I like this series?
