I do so love the Albert Campion mysteries (with the exception of Cargo of Eagles, which I still think is rather dreadful). This one features an intriguing locked room murder and a veritable basketload of red herrings, as Campion delves into the sordid affairs of a minor publishing house.

You know what you're getting with Campion. I'm currently listening to all the audiobooks of Campion books that I can find. Golden Age crime fiction is called "convalescent literature" for a reason after all. I enjoyed this one - a locked-room mystery with amazingly painted characters and a really unconventional resolution and twist at the end. I kind of called it, but wasn't sure until pretty near the end, which was nice.

I liked it and it was a good mystery story - Didn't quite feel the same fondness for Campion that I feel for Lord Peter or Poirot, but perhaps I just need to read one of the earlier ones.
