Let me tell you something- book 4 of the Dune saga is nuts. I’m a fan; it’s nuts in a good way. But it’s absolutely bonkers. But yeah, the story is drifting away from the awesomeness of the first book after this. Let’s see how book 5 goes.

Wormlord Leto II dies because he is too horny.
Might be the greatest love story ever written.
Idk why I loved reading this book so much it's mostly people talking to Leto II and him saying some meta things and his audience being like "wdym" and he'll respond like "yes that's the point" :') with him then mourning his humanity because he can't be united in flesh with his girlycrush

Leto!! Get your spicy ass over here so I can give you a hug.

Hating or loving his mad godhead reign, I wouldn’t dare disrespect the insane character development Frank Herbert crafted for—and through—him across the entire series, especially in the final chapters of this one.

Got the feeling that GEOD is so rich in philosophical fiction that, in retrospect, the first book feels like it barely scratched the surface of Frank’s inner writing potential. But Paul had to walk so Leto II could ride his cart. Praise!!!!!

On the other hand, even if the ending isn’t bad at all, it unfortunately doesn’t quite measure up to the quality level of the saga’s earlier entries.

don’t love how really any of the women are written in this tbh
