Gosh this one is hard to rate. Incredibly interesting premise, super original take not only on what a utopia/dystopia looks like but ALSO how we get there in the very very long term. There were several strands that didn’t tie in well to the overall story, and many philosophical conversations that I had trouble following. Maybe I’m just jot understanding them, but also… if the reader can’t understand the writing, it’s probably bad writing. Also, he is oddly obsessed with sex and gender essentialism. His bad takes remind me that, unlike his characters, he is NOT prescient and all-knowing, and all of his big picture philosophies about the universe could also just be bullshit. Perhaps.
