unbelievably addicting. heartbreaking and hopeful. devastating and gripping and dark and so very moving. i loved this book so much.

I loved this book and how the past and present plot lines were interwoven. The ending left me feeling hollow

especially since Lindy never got proper justice. Stockholm Syndrome fully took hold of her and it made me so sad that she lost the will to escape even when she finally could. I understand the trauma Peter went through but I was hoping he would come to a revelation about his darkness and how he’s not actually quite so different from his dad. The last chapter of his discussing his thoughts about kidnapping again was chilling.

so -1/2 star although given the darkness of situations like these in real life, it’s fair that’s there’s not truly a “happy ending”

I was told to bump this up my TBR list and I’m so glad I did!! 
A fantastic book, well written. We follow the strange story of Sally Diamond and begin to understand why, when her dad told her to put him out with the rubbish when he passed away, she did just that!! 
A tragically sad back story and strong character development we begin to understand why Sally is the way she is! But could her story have been different if she’d got the treatment she needed earlier?? 
A brilliant read by Liz Nugent who captures the eccentricity’s perfectly without making light of a tragic start to her life. I will definitely be reading more books from Liz!!
