Predictable but good!!

Solid start to a thriller series, but happy I don't necessarily have to rush into reading them. Can definitely hold it's own if you want to read as a stand alone book.

I liked this book a lot. I really liked the characters, and the bonds that were formed. It was graphic but not often. It was twisted and disturbing but that wasn't the focus. Good mix of action and character development (especially for a thriller)! I will probably read the rest of them too.

Lots of twists and turns! Loved it!

I bought this book because I needed to buy a book for a flight real quick, and it was on Amazon's bestsellers for the week. Unfortunately it did not download in time for my flight! :( It was sold as a crime suspense novel, and I expected it to be suspenseful! It became that was at about 60% of the way through the book, which was a real bummer. I labored through the very boring majority of the novel, before it got "good". Then, the "good" part was like reading an under-budget B-rate horror film. B-rate horror film is not a bad book, if that's what you're hoping for. That would have been fine with me if the entire book was that way, not just the very ending. The main character seemed like a hackneyed version of what the author thought a traumatized woman should be like: wracked with paranoia, supposedly trusting of absolutely no one (except every time it is convenient for the author to violate that trait), yet super strong and determined! Her character seems so inconsistent; not in a smart way, reflecting a real person, but in a way that revealed the author's laziness. I will not be continuing the with the series.

It was meh. Some of the writing isn’t great, it jumps around sometimes and feels like it could have been better organized. The main character can be pretty dumb tbh.

Felt like it was obvious from the beginning who the suspect was.

Turns out this is a series of 6 and I don’t think I can bring myself to do this five more times.
