Disclaimer: I’m aware of the controversy surrounding EH on bookstagram and how she treats her readers when reviews aren’t absolutely stellar. For that reason, I’m not promoting these books on bookstagram, only posting my reviews to Goodreads (to keep track of what i read this year). I’ve decided to read the rest of the EH books I own but will likely not be purchasing any others.
With all of that being said—I enjoyed the first book in the Winter series. All of the characters are lovable in their own way and it was pretty fast paced for an EH novel.

This was a family drama at its best and so much fun to read (or in my case listen to). The chapters alternated between the members of the Quinn family, and Elin did a great job introducing each character and transitioning between storylines in a way that was cohesive and bingeable. The book ended on a semi cliffhanger, so I’ll be starting the next one tomorrow! The audio was less very short, less than 7 hours, so I blew through it.

I was hopped up on my plane meds and a Bloody Mary so the fact that this wasn’t particularly memorable may not entirely be the book’s fault.

I loved this one and I can’t wait to continue this series in 2022. I only didn’t give this a 5 because I don’t like that Ava still calls her parents mommy and daddy at the age of 22.
