This was a pretty light and fun romance. As a hockey player, I loved the amount of detail about the gameplay, the regular season, the team, etc. I really dislike when a book uses a specific setting to set up the story but glosses over the details in favour of the romance. Those details are what make a story feel more real to me. I’ve seen some people complain about the amount of hockey. Guys, it’s a hockey romance. There’s going to be hockey in it. I liked the team dynamics, too.

I am genuinely torn on this - I loved the premise, the idea of a revived Quebec Nordiques franchise with a woman owner and coach churning their way towards the playoffs.  Their star winger, Gabe Martin, is closeted with a greedy ex and a crush on his teammate.  It's a warm romance and a fun read.

That being said, this probably won't overwhelm slash hockey fans who will probably prefer fanfic.  It's still worth reading and picking up.
