Fans of the Master of Suspense and mystery will find something special in Stephanie Wrobel’s Hitchock Hotel. From the references to some of Hitcock’s classic films to his real life suspected proclivities, this story, much like Hitchcok’s films reveals the dark side of human nature.

Interesting thriller but most of the characters are really hard to like.  Without feeling a connection to the characters it is hard to feel invested in the thriller.

I swear, I was going to rate this 5 stars until a little more than halfway through. The second the big moment happened, being vague as to not spoil, the book just went downhill from there. Too many little twists and mysteries popping up one after the other in a small confined space. All this build up for such an odd and unsatisfying conclusion.

This book felt like an amalgamation of The Secret History and a Freida McFadden book, and I don't mean that as a compliment. I could tell from the beginning that there were going to be outlandish twists that would probably annoy me, but since the book was fairly quick paced I decided to stick with it.

I didn't like any of the characters and I wish we'd had more input from Alfred's point of view on what his expectations of the weekend were. Overall, it was fine but I won't be recommending it to friends.

Having never actually watched any Hitchcock, I think I was missing a bit of background compared to some of the others in the book club, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
I felt it took a while before anything really happened. Granted, the author was sitting the scene, but it didn't really grab me to start with.
Once the murder happened, things started picking up, but I still had no clue what might have happened. I did realise that the initial confession wasn't the answer (just part of it), but I never could have worked out the ending. It definitely kept me guessing!
