I really liked this. I thought it was a great fall/New England read. I thought the premise was a lot of fun. (I am not like a Hitchcock Stan so I don’t know how that would change things.)

It’s definitely a slow burn. There are flash backs. But for once I was equally intrigued by both story lines. It’s clear there are layers of secrets here, so that kept me turning pages.

The writing is easy and paced well. Pages just kept turning.

There was a point in this where I thought I could give it 5 stars.  But I think the ending dragged on a little too long. The last 30 pages felt like all recap and the recap wasn’t really needed. I also think if you are really trying to solve it the answer was guessable, but I guess guessing who it was never crossed my mind because I was so caught up in discovering all the characters’ secrets.

So maybe not a perfect read but a good time nonetheless.

Alfred is the owner of the Hitchcock Hotel, an Alfred Hitchcock themed hotel, and this year marks the one year anniversary of the glorified bed & breakfast’s opening. To celebrate, Alfred invites his five former best friends from his college film club for a weekend of “fun.” Alfred has other plans in mind and wants to be his own Master of Suspense. There will be a body, just like in any Hitchcock film, because someone needs to pay for the wrongdoing that happened senior year.

Review:
The Hitchcock Hotel was an easy read, that read like any other mystery book where former friends reunite years later, secrets unravel and someone gets murdered. Some of the plot twists I didn’t see coming, and at points I thought I had it figured out, but I didn’t. I found the Hitchcock Hotel to be a good pallet cleanser from some heavier reads. It was a good and fun mystery book, but nothing to write home about.
