This is my first Sophie Kinsella book and I didn't have any expectation going in and I was pleasantly surprised.
I liked dysfunctional family dynamic and second chance romance was sweet.

sophie kinsella just let’s me live my 45-year-old-mom life. I love reading her books, they are entertaining, never boring and are just perfect. the premise is always so unique that even when I forget what it is about, it comes right back within the first minutes.
as a melancholic Person as well, I felt effie’s feeling about selling greenoaks. and I loved how the story just unfolded itself. It kind of felt like a mystery but not really haha. all in all, sophie kinsella, you are the queen of not disappointing me!

Out of all the Kinsella novels I’ve read I’ll be honest but this one is forgettable.

The whole party debacle could have been solved if the family communicated with each other. But that’s what makes it relatable but in reality we all miss communicate with the ones we love.

It was hilarious in some parts, and PAINFULLY slow in others. The conclusion of the characters isn’t what I expected which I enjoyed because often books like this can become predictable. Unfortunately, this doesn’t save it from its 2.5 star rating because I was incredibly impatient with the FMC at some points. Just go to the party??? Lol

DNF after 100 pages.
I don't think this author is for me anymore.
Her protagonists come across as immature making their rational thinking and train of thought juvenile and out of sorts.
