This book shows that one cannot run from their past and puts “evil” deeds into context. Truly makes you wonder what defines malicious intent and its consequences with regards the parties involved.

its been a while to be honest, but i recall not being too bothered by this mandatory read from way back in year 4. not my favourite novel of Mulisch's but a solid read.
Half of the time i was bored to death, half of the time i was amazed at the beautiful writing
