This book has been on my TBR for so ling, I completely forgot what it was about.

I was pleasantly surprised that it was like a spy thriller with some smut. I have never read a book that uses c**t so much to describe a vagina and I was honestly surprised that someone hasn't tried to get it banned (not me, I think that word needs to be used more often, people give it way too much power).

I am excited because this is the first book in a series and I can't wait to read the next one. Judith really comes into her own in this book and seems to find her true calling. Can't wait to see what she gets up to in the next book.

Sometimes you just want to listen to Emilia Fox narrate some crime and murder....

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS BOOK. Sadly, I can't grade it any less than one star.

More that's half of the plot line doesn't make any sense: she goes from auction house employee to rich guy spoiled girlfriend and finally, murderess (?)

There's a try at making a sex-loving character a cultured one too. Not that both things can't live together, but the author doesn't succeed at it.

If what you're after are the sex scenes, you can probably find better things online.

Sex scenes way too vulgar. Not needed

Ha, this was very entertaining. I think it's described as some sort of 50 Shades clone, but even though I've not read those books, I can safely say it isn't. I mean, there are lots of graphic sex scenes but that's it for comparisons. It is really a thriller about a woman on the run, and how she deals with ever more messed-up situations. It's really good actually, quite classy and well written I thought.

Kept on waiting for the plot to get better. FYI, it didn't. Worse book I've ever read

I really thought this book might have something--a character who leads a double life and aspires to great things in an atmospheric setting and with writing that is intelligent and somewhat evocative of historical fiction. But the pointless and explicit sex scenes--must we? They were simply gratuitous and ultimately made me bored with the story.

I have very mixed feelings about this book. For the longest I had no idea where the plot was going and even in the end I'm still somewhat confused. I feel like with a little editing it could have been a much better book. There was also just a little too much sex in the novel. I mean I'm fine the character doing whatever they want but I don't need to read about it repeatedly. I'd be interested to see what the rest of the trilogy is like but I don't think I'd recommend the book. It will probably also make a much better movie than it did a book.

If Gone Girl, The Goldfinch, and 50 Shades of Grey had a baby, it would be Maestra.
