“I’m sick of waiting for karma.’’

Jenny Han, To All The Boys... didn't like the movie. Not for me. Also not really into romance. I mention it because I haven't read anything she has written and I’m not planning to. Ain't going to compare it to her other work. I got this because it was 3€ and I wanted to rant. I mean does this sound like something I wouldn't hate?
I need to read the descriptions of books I randomly buy because duuude fuck me. This is gonna be ffuuunn... btw I may buy book 3 someday this year because it's also hella cheap and I hate myself.
Some people said it's trying too hard to be Gossip Girl or PLL... I hate both.
This is a revenge story and bitch love that but god it sucked. The revenge stories were such a letdown. So fucking lame and cheesy.

''I’m her big sister. It’s my job to look out for her, to keep her safe.''
Let ur sister live her life. Damn u weirdo.

Spoiler i guess. Let’s be real tho no one cares.
⚫So one of them gets raped and shit was so random and underdeveloped. You can take it out and nothing would have changed. What was the fucking point? I legit forgot about it and the only reason I remembered it is because I’m reading some reviews. I don't even remember who got raped. I’m guessing it was Lil.
⚫Carrie prom scenes aren't fucking cool or revolutionary. 50 other people have done it better than you. LEAVE CARRIE ALONE! To be fair the last 3chapters were the only interesting part.

Sooo I wouldn't call it bad. I would call it boring and lame. Everything was so meh. John Tucker Must Die is a fun revenge teen comedy. Watch that or Carrie. You know what, Revenge 2017 was more entertaining than this and I fucking hate that movie.
I wanna give it 3 stars but I think that's the quarantine talking.... I wanna watch Heathers.

A good book. Quick and Easy. 7/10

p.s
I noticed that in the cover the girls look like they are from different times
Kat-2000's
Mary-when the book was written (early 2010's)
Lilia-Late 2010's

This book...is definitely worth your read.

This book starts off with a small chapter on each of the characters, Mary, Lillia and Kat. I have to admit, I was pretty confused at first and had to keep on referring back to the front of the book to remember who was who, but after a while, you get used to it.

The three girls are vastly different. Lillia, a gentle, protective big sister. Mary, a girl with many hidden secrets who comes back to where she had a painful past, seeking a closure. Kat, fearless and daring, and doesn't care what people think of her.

And here you wonder what these three girls could possibly have in common.

They seek revenge.

Mary, on the guy who tormented her when she was younger. Kat, on her possible love interest, Alex, who she thinks cheated on her with Lillia's sister Nadia. Also for Kat, Rennie, her ex-best friend, because she had it coming for a long time. Lillia, on protecting Nadia, making it so no girl would ever want to date Alex again.

Little did they realise how successful their plan will be...maybe even too successful.

This book had me hooked from the moment the plot really kicked into gear. I love how the plot begins to complicate, and reveals sides of people you thought you had figured out.

It's perfect for those who wants a good mystery, seeks thrill and suspense, because boy does this book have it all! Girls taking up the show and stealing the spotlight? You're soo on.

It's a great book, one you won't regret reading. ;) Trust me. Books that get on my 'worthy-reads' shelves...they really deserve it.

The reason why I gave it four stars, just shy of five, is that I felt that more could be done about Mary and her aunt's relationship. There were many unexplained things, and it bugged me that Mary, friendly and nice, could be acting so cold and indifferent to her aunt.

Fun, but that abrupt ending suuuucked. Next book please!

love, love, love this book! at the end I just wanted more ! so good! i gave it 5 stars because the story was really exciating
dark emotional mysterious medium-paced

Probably more like 2.5. Enjoyable and quick, and I was kind of curious about how things would end up (and, fine, a little curious to read the next one), but the characters started to get on my nerves by the end of it.

CW: Rape, Suicide, Bullying, Drugs

I was given an signed ARC copy as a gift from Mickey of I'm a Book Shark.

WOW. That ending. OMFG, it had to be a trilogy. >.<

I've read Han's Boys I've Loved Before duology and loved it. I've never read anything by Vivian before. I think it's just adorable how they're best friends and writing together about these girls! :D

I'm honestly surprised how wrapped up I was in Burn for Burn. I was worried how the gossip-y high schoolers would get to be and seem childish. Nope, I haven’t read (or watched) other things like Pretty Little Liars or whatever. That just sounds exhausting while Burn for Burn didn’t. I loved Han’s work before and thought it was worth a shot since it has a paranormal twist.

description

Looks like I've still got a spark going after all this time. Kat and Mary are the most relatable for me. Lillia and I have only one thing in common and I'm surprised at her post-trauma self. It’s not surprising being in denial and hiding it, but I’d be a hell of a lot more pissed at Ren. Where’s your back bone girl?!? Stick up for yourself!

The tale is weaved between their three perspectives and flip between past and present. It’s done so well and I love the little details woven throughout.

We start off with the week before school starts: Kat’s developing “thing” with a Jock, Lillia’s crew hanging out at the beach and Mary’s coming home. Then we skip to when it all starts going downhill on the first day of senior year.

It’s a slow build with tension and suspense surrounding their lives and pasts. The revenge pack starts building around 120 page. But the whole book flew by and was a quick, engaging read. Their revenge tactics are the level of high school drama but I wasn’t expecting anything else.

At least, that’s how it starts…

The paranormal is barely there. At the end, one finally admits something is going on (to herself) while everyone else is in the dark (literally). It is shaping up to be
SpoilerCarrie with a twist, I think. Loved that book. Or maybe a cross between that and The Craft. Man, I fucking loved that movie too. And now I feel so old, lol.
.

I will absolutely be picked up the next book!

I'm not really sure what to make of this book. It was slightly disappointing and a bit confusing. I didn't quite get why Lillia was so overprotective of her sister. I mean, they have a mom, right? Being jealous of her for hooking up with a boy she likes, maybe, but definitely not punishing her like she was her mother. I was really confused about
Spoiler wtf is up with Mary. Is she supernatural? Or is she actually a ghost? I really don't like how unclear that was
. The revenge aspect of the book worked well, but that's about as much as this plot really worked for me.
