Fast read. It really isn't anything special but it's written in this kind of way when you need to know what happens next. I didn't even really liked any of the characters. But I guess I have to continue now. Damn 😄

Despite this book being completely stereotypical, I like it just fine. I mean even the synopsis says postcard perfect Jar Island. And then you have three different, but again very stereotypical girls. On one hand you have "a bad girl" Kat, on the other "homecoming queen" popular Lillia. There is also Mary somewhere in between, shy girl with zero friends, but somehow really good looking too.
Don't get me wrong, I really like the book and the reason for so is exactly that. It's the kind of book you have to put aside all scepticism once you start reading it and just enjoy it.

It's like John Tucker Must Die only bigger and larger people to get even on. Don't just cry. Get EVEN.

During the summer I find myself driving a lot and I always love to listen to an audiobook to make the drive go faster. For my latest trip to the cabin, I choose Burn for Burn by Jenny Han. I wanted something contemporary, light and Burn for Burn totally sucked me in from the beginning. The audiobook was read by three different girls and was 7 hours, 3 minutes long.

Likes:

The story was fun, it still gave me that “Pretty Little Liars” feel, but was an interesting story that could stand on its own two feet.

I loved the location. I have read a few books that are scripted on an island. It seems like that remote island makes the story so much more intense and collective. When you live on an island you can’t really get away from anyone and everyone knows your business.

I loved Kat, she was a little punky, definitely got the short end of the stick and was intense. Kat was the one that came up with the whole revenge scheme.

I am interested in Mary, I think that there is a lot more of her story left to come out, so I think I will continue with the series.

There was some Mean Girls flair in this book and you definitely want the Queen Bee to fall!

Gripes:

Cliffhanger ending, it all starts to get a little crazy and then the book is over.
