This coming of age story follows three 12 year old boys that experience a strange cosmic occurrence while spending the night in a newly built fort out in a cornfield.

This beautifully written novella is gripping, heartbreaking, and emotional. 💔🥹
The vulnerability of these boys, the honest and raw emotions, and the loyal friendship kept me so invested in this story. This one will stay with me. I highly recommend!

Thank you to Cemetery Dance for providing a review copy.

I'm a huge fan of Chad Lutzke's writing. The stories are so good, beautifully written - but I also know they're going to stomp on my heart a little. Bruises on a Butterfly is his best book yet. It's heart-breaking because these boys feel so real. I read it in a single sitting. Definitely check your triggers on this one, because it is not an easy book. Strong 5 stars
