I liked Love Hypothesis, but I LOVED this book even more! I felt like I could really connect with Bee (unfortunately even down to the 6mo to a wedding and then a "friend" turns it upside down...) with the love of Star Wars, and her personality overall! :)

The banter was fun, and the plot was great and the spice was nice! ;) Now usually I like books to have...a lot of spice, but I was so wrapped up in reading the plot I kind of forgot about spice and when there was it was well worth the wait. LOL!

-Plot: 4.8/5 (I wish there was just a weeeee bit more at the end, it felt a bit rushed compared to everything else.)
-Spice: 4/5 (WAYY more than a Colleen Hoover book, but less than A Court of Silver Flames)
-Ease of Read: 4.9/5 (The only hinderance was there were a couple items that had me going "The oodie what-ie?" I have some medical background so a lot of items I knew which helped! :) )

I don’t know HOW, but Ali Hazelwood managed to make Love on the Brain EVEN BETTER than The Love Hypothesis. This is definitely one of my top 3 romance books.

Spoilercurrently reading

Only a few pages in and it's so obvious that all his I-don't-like-you stuff is actually I'm-secretly-in-love-with-you stuff
Who doesn't know what an abacus is? Especially a scientist.
Sometimes the dialogue is so cringe I'm blushing.
It's really starting to be bother me that the heroines in all these books are constantly saying things like"I'm wondering why I can't stop thinking about that time [love interest] and I brushed up against each other." Girl, you're attracted to and thirsting after him. However, I also think that this is in some ways a gendered form of speech (it isn't unrealistic for people to be in denial about their feelings); for example, I often qualify things that I'm certain about, adding on an "I think that maybe" at the start—this phenomenon seems similar. On that count, I'm trying not to be bothered.
One thing that the author is actually doing really well is using differences in Levi's speech/mannerisms to build tension. Because dialogue and body language around Bee is usually stilted/overly formal, when he breaks character for a sentence or two in which he uses her name, it reads as particularly tender and packs a big emotional punch, even without Bee saying ~"My heart lurched when he said my name" (although she often does).
It does feel a touch too unrealistic in these books (Hazelwood novels) that the love interests have been pining after the main characters for years without any signs of reciprocation and minimal interaction.

All tension is sexual tension. Glowering and uncomfortable silences are just form of flirting.

Errrrrgggh this is so frustrating. They're dating, and he clearly has intense feelings for her, and she keeps being all "oh we're not dating and he only used to have feelings for me" and it's ridiculous to the point of being annoying. "I can't help but notice Levi's looking at me with an odd light in his eyes." It's so odd, what ever could it mean that my love interest is mooning at me while I'm holding a child!?

The narrator of the audiobook is good at some things, but she makes the narration sound too deep/serious for the story at times.

"Who could have it out for me, I'm so boring?" But lots of people have been trying to sabotage her work .

The villain is cartoonishly bad, vut I like that Bee faints a lot—a lot of popular culture associates physical strength with personal strength.

quotes of note: "in all his hulking, massive grace" and "big dick calm"
