I struggled a little with this one. I knew it was juvenile literature, but still found myself wishing there was more depth to the characters. The overall plot was a great concept!

Wow. All I can say is wow. I’ve stayed up till midnight the past three nights reading this book and I’m so impressed. As you may know from my other reviews, I don’t often rate Y.A. literature five stars. However, this novel, though it lacked symbolism that could have easily been added, is deserving of five stars. The plot is intriguing and there are many moments when your mind is blown. I cannot wait to read the rest of this trilogy and many other books by Neal Shusterman.
I tandem read this book by following a paper copy along with the audio. This was a great and exciting read for me, especially since it’s been so long since I’ve read a YA/fantasy type book. I agree with some other reviewers that this book was as exciting as the hunger games, which I read quite sometime ago. I would definitely read more from this author and feel like this book has re-introduced me to YA/Fantasy which I have not read for many many years. The definitely was entertaining with imaginary storylines that I myself probably could never have dreamed up.
